Permit me to share some insights about mami Schola under the banner, As I Knew Her.
AS I KNEW HER :1) Just Judge.Mami Schola was often seen settling disputes from neighbours at her Hausa Quarters residence. The young and old, men and women always brought unresolved pain to her for counseling and advice. Her wisdom was often unchallenged.
AS I KNEW HER :2)Smiling Mother. By design mami Schola had this contagious smile which made many take her for granted. In her could be found a mother for all especially those who had been deprived of parental love. Her friends cut across age groups ;a heart of love for people in need of love. Her children were numerous, her friends countless. Someone once said count not your age by years but by your friends!
AS I KNEW HER :3)Gift Shop. Mami Schola's generosity made her look like a free gift shop for those in need. Even though she was not an eldorado, she selflessly went out of her way to fill the needs of the less privileged, a kind of present day robin hood who would rob Peter to pay Paul. This she would do even for the church in cash and kind.
AS I KNEW HER :4)Faithful. From her world of friends and the issues she went through in life I never witnessed a wavering faith in mami Schola. Over situations that drove many women from one faith group to another mami never bulged. As I left her a few hours before she went to be with the Lord, she asked for her Rosary (red). This was her testimony of faith - always a catholic!
AS I KNEW HER :The Info Box. I am always amazed at how much mami Schola knew. She is like a melting pot of information. Of all the traits she manifested this made her most revered. Because you couldn't tell how much she knew about you or an issue you never wanted to mess with her. The word of God says my people perish for lack of knowledge. Many respected her others feared her for what she knew.
