WoinkomDC Great loss to Kom family August 21, 2019

It was untimely for the Exco as we scheduled our visit and were unable to get through to the  nursing home on the phone. But remained comforted by the fact that Nawain Dr Martha Ngwainbi kept in touch with you and kept us posted on how you were doing .
She told us you always wanted to come to the meeting when you were able and that is why the entire Kom family was there to celebrate your life and will be unable to fill the void.
We know you are in a better place till we meet again!
God bless ...

Christian Tufon Tribute to mammy Schola August 15, 2019

To paraphrase Martin Luther King, Jr.,“Free at last, Free at last, Thank God almighty we are free at last.”  Mum, you are now freed from the flesh and all its limitations. We thank God for your life. You gave us your utmost best. You took good care of yourself and you did not want to bother us. We thank God for all the people that touched your life and for all the lives that you touched. We also thank God for guiding you through this challenging journey of life successfully. You completed your work here on earth, the divine plan has been fulfilled. We give glory to the Lord for calling you back into his bosom. You were so free-spirited, and now your spirit is actually free - free of the bondage of the flesh. Enjoy the everlasting freedom and eternal life. You deserve it.
it is not by coincidence that everyone speaks well about you, for the Lord speaks through his people. You always brightened the lives of those around you. You were so giving of your time and other resources. You were very transparent in your ways. You called a spade a spade and yet you bore no grudges. You were not born into wealth, yet your spirit was robust and vibrant from day one. Your good life is measured not in terms of longevity or materialism but in terms of quality, humility and uprightness. You were always happy to see so many people around you and you always found a way to be kind and pleasurable to all. We cherish all the moments that we shared together.
You were not born with a silver spoon in your mouth but you were born into a beautiful, kind and synergistic family. Your simplicity and dynamism made it easy for family and friends to work with you. You trusted your family with your life, your children and your soul. You were God-fearing. You cherished your friends from all works of life, all ages, and from various cultural backgrounds. You have played an important role on the stage of life and you have contributed immensely to the success of the divine plan. Mum, you rock. See you around. May your gentle soul RIP.
Della Tufon Tribute to my Grandma August 15, 2019

When I found out I wanted to call you

I wanted to know it wasn't true

I wanted to hear your laugh and see you smile

Spend more time at least for awhile

But I now I hold on to the memories

The memories that are now stories

Of conversations past

Now memories that will last

Until we meet again...

- Della

Tommy Itoe AS I KNEW HER August 15, 2019

Permit me to share some insights about mami Schola under the banner, As I Knew Her.

AS I KNEW HER :1) Just Judge.Mami Schola was often seen settling disputes from neighbours at her Hausa Quarters residence. The young and old, men and women always brought unresolved pain to her for counseling and advice. Her wisdom was often unchallenged.

AS I KNEW HER :2)Smiling Mother. By design mami Schola had this contagious smile which made many take her for granted. In her could be found a mother for all especially those who had been deprived of parental love. Her friends cut across age groups ;a heart of love for people in need of love. Her children were numerous, her friends countless. Someone once said count not your age by years but by your friends!

AS I KNEW HER :3)Gift Shop. Mami Schola's generosity made her look like a free gift shop for those in need. Even though she was not an eldorado, she selflessly went out of her way to fill the needs of the less privileged, a kind of present day robin hood who would rob Peter to pay Paul. This she would do even for the church in cash and kind.

AS I KNEW HER :4)Faithful. From her world of friends and the issues she went through in life I never witnessed a wavering faith in mami Schola. Over situations that drove many women from one faith group to another mami never bulged. As I left her a few hours before she went to be with the Lord, she asked for her Rosary (red). This was her testimony of faith - always a catholic!

AS I KNEW HER :The Info Box. I am always amazed at how much mami Schola knew. She is like a melting pot of information. Of all the traits she manifested this made her most revered. Because you couldn't tell how much she knew about you or an issue you never wanted to mess with her. The word of God says my people perish for lack of knowledge. Many respected her others feared her for what she knew.
